Get Started

Open Settings → Profile & Settings from the app navigation to manage your display name, regional preferences, data exports, and account controls. Changes to preferences take effect immediately and are saved to your account.


Profile Information

Your profile shows your display name, account status, and the date you joined.

Editing your name

Tap the pencil icon next to your name to change how it appears throughout the app, including in shared groups. Names may contain letters, spaces, hyphens, and apostrophes.

All preferences are saved to your account and apply across devices.

Default Currency

The currency pre-selected when you manually add a new account or transaction. This is separate from your reporting currency, which is used for summaries and net worth calculations. Learn about reporting currency →

Date Format

Controls how dates are displayed throughout the app and in CSV exports. Three formats are available:

Your date format setting does not affect how dates are stored in the database — only how they are displayed and exported.

Number Format

Controls how amounts are displayed throughout the app and in CSV exports. Four formats are available:

Theme

Choose between System (follows your device setting), Light, or Dark. The change applies instantly.


App

Export Data

Downloads a CSV file containing all your transaction data, including accounts, categories, and tags. The exported file uses your current date and number format settings.

The exported file contains sensitive financial information. Store it securely and avoid sharing it unencrypted.

AI Connections

ClearCash supports read-only MCP (Model Context Protocol) connections that allow external AI tools to read your financial data on your behalf. This screen lists any active connections and lets you revoke individual ones at any time.

AI connections are read-only. A connected AI tool can view your data but cannot create, edit, or delete anything in your account.

Contact Support

Opens your email client with a pre-filled support address. You can also reach us directly at support@clearcash.app.


Account

Sign Out

Ends your session on this device. Your data remains stored in your account and will be available when you sign back in.

Delete Account

Permanently deletes your ClearCash account and all associated data. The deletion flow has three steps: a disclosure explaining what will be removed, a re-authentication step to confirm your identity, and a final confirmation.

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you want a copy of your data, use Export Data before proceeding.


Frequently Asked Questions

Does changing my date or number format affect my stored data?

No. These settings only change how data is displayed in the app and formatted in CSV exports. The underlying records are not modified.

What is the difference between default currency and reporting currency?

Your default currency is the pre-selected currency when you manually add an account or transaction — it is a convenience shortcut. Your reporting currency is the currency used for all summaries, net worth calculations, and budgets. You can change your reporting currency in Settings → Currency. What happens to shared group data if I delete my account?

Your membership is removed from all groups you belong to. Groups and their data are not deleted — they remain accessible to other members. If you are the sole owner of a group, you will need to transfer ownership or delete the group before your account can be deleted.

Can I revoke an AI connection without affecting anything else?

Yes. Revoking an AI connection only removes that tool’s read access to your data. Your account, preferences, and all financial records are completely unaffected.
