Connect your AI assistant

Use your AI's built-in directory if ClearCash is listed, or set it up manually in under a minute.

Open your AI assistant's connector settings

Most MCP-enabled AI tools have a connectors or integrations panel. Look for "Connectors", "Integrations", or "MCP Servers" in settings.

In Claude: Settings → Connectors → Browse directory
In ChatGPT: Settings → Connectors

Search for ClearCash and click Connect

Find ClearCash in the directory and click Connect. You'll be redirected to the ClearCash authorization screen.

Sign in and approve read-only access

Sign in with your ClearCash account and approve the connection. Your AI assistant can immediately start querying your financial data.

Authorization uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE — your AI assistant never sees your ClearCash password and no credentials are stored by your AI tool. Access is read-only; your AI assistant cannot move money, edit accounts, or change any settings.

Copy our MCP server URL from the ClearCash app

Our MCP server URL is shown in the app. Tap your profile to open settings, then go to AI Connections.

Tap the copy icon next to the URL — you'll paste it into your AI tool in the next step.

Add a new remote MCP server in your AI tool

Open your AI assistant's settings and look for an option to add a remote MCP server. Paste in the URL you copied.

In Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → paste URL
In ChatGPT: Settings → Connectors → Add → paste URL

Sign in when prompted

Your AI tool will open a ClearCash sign-in screen the first time it connects. Sign in and approve read-only access.

Your data stays yours

Your financial data is only retrieved when you actively ask a question — nothing is shared in the background. Common questions

Do I need a ClearCash subscription?

Yes — the AI connector requires an active ClearCash subscription. If you're not yet a subscriber, you canstart a free trial and connect your AI during or after onboarding.

Which AI tools are supported?

Any tool that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP) will work with ClearCash. This currently includes Claude and ChatGPT, among others. If your tool supports remote MCP servers, use the Manual setup tab above.

How do I disconnect ClearCash from my AI?

Revoke access from ClearCash → Profile → AI Connections, or from your AI tool's connector settings. Either immediately ends your AI's access to your data.

Is my transaction data sent to the AI provider?

Your financial data is only retrieved when you actively ask a question that requires it, and is used solely to answer that question within the conversation. ClearCash does not store or log the content of your AI conversations.

Can I use this on my phone?

Yes — any MCP-enabled mobile AI app can connect to ClearCash. Claude's iOS and Android apps support connectors, and other mobile AI tools are adding MCP support regularly.

What is MCP?

Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants securely connect to external data sources. It works similarly to how apps connect with OAuth — you grant access once, and the AI retrieves relevant data when you ask for it.
