Track money

Organize spending the way you actually think about it.

Every transaction gets a category, so your spending reports stay meaningful. Add tags on top for the flexible, one-off grouping a category can't capture.

Two systems, used together

Categories and tags aren't a choice—they work side by side.

Categories are the required, structured backbone behind your reports. Tags are optional and free-form, layered on top for context a category alone can't hold.

Questions, answered

Details that matter.

Can I rename or delete a category I created?

Categories you create can be managed from the settings area. Renaming a category updates it everywhere it's been used. Deleting one removes it from any transactions it was assigned to—those transactions will need a new category. Built-in default categories can't be renamed or deleted.

Can I delete a tag?

Yes. Deleting a tag removes it from all transactions it was applied to. The transactions themselves aren't affected.

Do Plaid-imported transactions come with categories?

Some do. Plaid provides merchant category data for many transactions, and ClearCash maps these to a matching category where possible. You can change the category on any transaction at any time.
